The brief we’ve been
given to complete is to create a 5 minute drama film which conveys the notion
of ‘Journey’. We are allowed to use 3 characters and locations outside the
university, use in synch sound and demonstrate an awareness of mise-en-scene.
I have never really
taken much interest in dramas before, much like that of reality-TV, so this
brief isn’t really my cup of tea, however I do enjoy a challenge and I will try
my best to open my eyes to the world of dramas to properly engage with the brief.
As I have a strong interest in the technical side of the film making process
and I’ve been lead editor in all other films I’ve been involved with, I will be
taking the role of sound designer in my group.

As the strength of
most dramas is the way the sound design provokes emotion in the audience in
terms of empathy, my role will be quite important and I will try to be as
knowledgeable on the subject area as possible, through preliminary research.
